Interface Design - Information Architecture
I have always had a passion for clean and simple design. My professional design experience started in 1988 with production of physical goods including retail interiors and exteriors, fabric and prints, clothing, and also corporate identities. I worked for nine years in physical design, and owned five successful clothing stores and a global wholesale business. I developed and managed production of goods across 5 continents and 15 countries. In 1996 I became interested in digital design, and was hired to develop corporate websites for a NATO Contractor and an Architectural Salvage firm, who were familiar with my work. Since this time I have continued with digital work, focusing on Interaction Design and Information Architecture for ecommerce websites and software applications. My specialty is in understanding business opportunities and challenges and developing solutions to meet business objectives. I enjoy challenges and have been able to serve as a point person for internal and external negotiations, and development of complex projects. Software Projects I have worked on include Corporate and Government Bond Rating Software Applications, Specialties and Commodities Exchanges, and Knowledge Management Systems. Websites I have worked on include a new Airline's Ecommerce Site, a large Computer Manufacturer's Ecommerce site and the Online Asset Consolidation for a large Bank Merger. My career goals involve working with leading edge teams on compelling projects, for both software applications and the websites. I value teams comprised of bright, fun and dedicated people, who are constantly learning, value collaboration, and focus on solutions over process.
